Bonne Anniversaire a moi!

I can't believe another year has gone by.  Seriously.  In July of 2013 we were in Brazil and Argentina, and it feels like it was two months ago.  Unless you consider all that's happened in this last year.  The best part about this birthday is that our little Mac Davis finally came.  He was definitely a wish, a hope, a new years resolution, a prayer... and the best present I could ever ask for.  Sure, he may have made it hard to gallivant around the world this birthday - but snuggling that little cutie was worth the exchange, and soon we'll be combing the two (his passport came this week).  Matt (as always) put a ton of thought and effort into the big day to make sure it was celebrated just right!  I'm such a lucky girl.  We started celebrating Friday night - and celebrated through Monday... so NO, we did not consume all of this food in one day.  But still.  We easily gained a few.  It was worth it.  Happy Birthday to me!

This gorgeous pitcher was one of many presents I received
Of course he had to go to three florists the morning of my big day to be sure the fresh flowers were just right.
 Skillz
A little Snooze take out to keep our energy stores high.  mmmmmmmm
What's a birthday (or splurge day) without donuts?  Walton's of course, with fresh strawberry glaze and the fluffiest dough.
Raspberry and Banana french macaroons from Sugar Mill.  Fabulous!
Not one, but five, yes five lindt bars.  of course we had to try ALL of the new flavors.
Have more decadent things ever been made?  Devonshire (clotted) cream for our fresh scones, the best chocolate milk ever, and fresh squeezed orange juice.

 Cute new hat!
 Mani - Pedi
Ballet Tickets - Under the Stars (Two cute dresses, pants, a top, movie tickets, afternoon tea date and a yoga top from everyone - all not pictured)
 The cutest little man Eva'
We had a lovely dinner at Mizuna, while Ginger watched our little Mac(aroon).  It was our first date alone.  Food was delish, and alone time with my man was AWESOME!
Happy Birthday house-made chocolates and a candle.  We turned away the complimentary wine they offered us.
DINNER

 Are you kidding?
Doris made this amazing lemon cake for my birthday dinner at her house.  The rest of the to-die-for meal included coconut shrimp, mango salsa, avocado salad, lime rice, raspberry lime slushies....

We also went to the dragon boat festival, Matt gave me a massage, and we watched an episode of the BBC Sherlock - plus lots of cards, calls, texts, emails, and Facebook messages.  All in all... a great birthday!  Thanks everyone for making me feel special.

Happy Birthday America!

I love the fourth of July.  Summer.  BBQ.  Swimming.  Family.  Freedom.  Fireworks.  Homemade Ice Cream.  Come on.  Seriously.

Needless to say - July 4, 2014 was no exception.  In fact, it was even better, because it was little Mac Davis' first one.  And of course - the fireworks didn't scare him one bit.  He loved them.
Red, White and Blue outfit number one.  Look at those red denim cut offs.  Hilarious.  And that facial expression.  Clearly we are smitten.
Doris put a lot of effort into the big day.  The table was set - coconut pancakes were had - then it was games and off to the pool.
Avery is going to be a GREAT baby sitter!
Mackey even got a nap in.
Then it was off to the pool for slides, singing songs under water, towing each other,  and synchronized swimming routines.  Note:  Red, White and Blue outfit number 2 (thanks Grandma Denise).  He may have pooped in it before we got to the pool, but I was able to snag a pic just in time.
BBQ ribs, cole slaw, corn bean salsa, star shaped watermelon, beans w/bacon, and corn bread.  PLUS... homemade chocolate ice cream, my favorite!
Red, (white - sort of), and Blue outfit number 3.  Hey, it's cold on a summer night, he
needed long sleeves.

The handsome men in my life.

July 5th - Mac loved the Cherry Creek Arts Festival (that plus shopping at the mall, movies, and sushi).  He loves being out and about.
I've never seen anything sweeter.

Meet the (grand)parents... take 2

For some reason, we are getting more popular these days.  We seem to have MORE visitors - people want to come to OUR house more often.  I'm not sure, but I think it may have to do with the miniature, soft, smiley angel who lives at our house?  That said, my parents came out to visit for a long weekend.  It was WONDERFUL having them here - and we had a blast spending time in both Denver and Vail.
Little Lulu couldn't stop loving on our little one.  I think she thought he was her baby.
We enjoyed a nice walk in City Park.
This photo doesn't do the mountain justice - but the drive up I-70 is nothing short of spectacular.

The comfort of rocks.

The whole family in one photo
He was giggling away.
Delicious breakfast... photo which preceded the little man pooping all over grandma.
Whoops, sorry about that.

The view from the pool.
Of course Matt had to put him self in the rushing (freezing) rapids.
Mac fell asleep in grandpa's arms while we hung out and talked by the fire.
Room with a view.
Swimming is exhausting.
