Christmas

Christmas has come and gone and as usual, it's just hard to believe that we're almost in a new year.  Here's some pics to remember the season and how much fun we had.
Secret Santas getting sneaky at Target.

Christmas Eve Mexican lunch
The gorgeous table setting for Christmas Eve dinner... think prime beef, king crab legs, cheddar polenta, and a delish hearts of palm salad

poached pear with creme anglaise - yummy
Sleeping under the table... hoping we might drop something... anything.
Rocco making himself at home during our Christmas Eve discussion about what inspires us
glockin' it out - watch out

The inside of my new mugs - there are also the shark and alligator variety
glock, ketchup gun, pistol (from Matt's dad - that they shot together when Matt was a kid)
damn it feels good to be a gansta
Fab new jacket
Rocco sitting on my head... naturally?!?!
Rocco sitting on my belly... naturally?!?!
Jeff showing us all sign of the bear after the Christmas Day kids talent show.

December and all it's glory

December rocked as per usual... here are a few of the things we were up to
The Colorado Symphony puts on a Christmas concert every year.  After the show we walked to Larimer Square where the lights were on, it was snowing... and salted caramel hot chocolate awaited us.

Many evenings (at least when we were home) were spent by the fire with the Christmas tree on - magic

Matt and I went to a chef's private lunch in the kitchen at the Hyatt.  The food was unbelievable - four courses, and started off with jamon serrano from Spain ($1,000 for the leg)... delish!

I had several modeling jobs - the one above... I kept breaking all of the bands - who knew I was incredibly buff?  :)
Not a bad seat at all
We went to a Killers concert with Teagan and Sarah opening and Cirque du Soleil - both AWESOME!
The cutest, cuddliest, smooshiest, doggie that ever lived was snuggled and kissed plentifully.
Crazy hair was had... I just woke up and it looked like this... totally raw footage here people.
Homemade chocolate-covered caramels for the blessed cookie exchange.  Only problem with this sacred event is that the cookies don't last long enough.

 Finished products

Ginger planned a super sweet evening at the Botanic Gardens Blossoms of Light.  The 3-D glasses were not just ordinary 3D glasses - they turned the lights into Christmas images (differing depending on the pair you were wearing).  They were fabulous - and probably the closest to a drug trip we'll ever come - they are highly recommended.
Ginger had us over for homemade pizza, and an impromptu game of hilarious charades.  Her stunning Dr. Seuss tree is pictured above.
 big finish...

We had Mickey, Doris, and Ginger over for our annual Christmas dinner (and gift to them)... an extravagant dinner prepared by my muscular better half. The place setting featured Matt's new Christmas soup tureen (what kind of a guy wants a handgun and a soup tureen for Christmas?  amazing).

Smoked Tomato bisque (with added bacon)
Homemade lobster mascarpone ravioli, cherry balsamic reduction, shaved parmesan, arugala, sage brown butter sauce.  I want to eat this every day for the rest of my life.  the end.
Halibut, sweet potato puree, fire roasted red pepper sauce
Florentines with pastry cream, berries, and a raspberry puree
It really was that good!

Thanks for Giving and other such gaiety

We're a little behind - but better late than never I guess?

For Matt's birthday Ginger gave him a certificate to drive a sports car (cross that one off the bucket list) - he took to the streets, burned rubber and reconfirmed the notion that Italians have the best style.  So beyond awesome - thanks Ginge!

I've been helping at all of the home Broncos games this year - #1 seed - great year to be on the field - plus the magic never leaves.  It's so much fun to be down there with all of that energy, 76,000 fans yelling, music, athleticism, dance, community, swearing and brawling.  :)  Good times.
Thanksgiving was spent in Utah with my family.  We had a blast and as always wish we lived closer to the Farrington clan.  Patrick's first holiday season home from his mission was special and fun for us to be with him!

mmm pie - chocolate cream, banana cream, coconut cream, apple

Salumi plate - snack time before the meal - so as not to go hungry, heaven forbid
Bunch a boozers... er... non alcoholic drink consumers

Typical

While shopping in the South Towne Mall - my mom, Matt, Patrick and I found ourselves full out dancing in a candy shoppe to oldies.
We had family pictures taken - here is my cute mom and Jon & Kaylene's sweet baby Dane.

Some sweet baby missed us.
